#110 Venezuela (T)raum
2020 / exhibition, video-art

(T)Raum. Towards a Speculative Memory (T)Raum comes from the fusion between the concepts of space (Raum) and dream (Traum). (T)Raum is an audiovisual proposal using the energy of random and spontaneous composition.
I use the structure of a conversation between an internal voice (perhaps my own) and that of the viewer.
Through this work, I weave together fragments of Caracas—voices echoing through telephone wires, automated messages from vacant spaces, the mechanical breath of answering machines. Images accumulate like sediment, where analog memories dissolve into digital streams, creating a tempest of visual and sonic fragments that speak to displacement and longing.
The concept of the archipelago I use as a mental image to approach ideas of fragility and the intuition of an imaginary memory towards the past of a country where modernity enters as a ghost to never disappear again.
