Digital Collection: Venezuela Lettrism
Post-Photographic Letters from Architectural Ruins
Venezuela Lettrism is a collection dedicated to offering editions of post-photographic pictures from ruins and architectural jewels of Venezuelan modernity, transformed through typographic intervention. This work pays homage to the Lettrist International movement, where letters become both archaeological tools and poetic fragments.
Each edition explores the relationship between text and image, where typography doesn't merely describe the architectural space but becomes an integral part of its visual archaeology. The letters form and deform the structures themselves, creating a dialogue between the promise of modernist architecture and its contemporary fragments.
Through this post-photographic approach, the collection examines how Venezuelan modernity's architectural dreams—from brutalist housing blocks to futuristic commercial centers—can be read as textual landscapes, where each building becomes a page in an unfinished urban poem.
