PARTICLES marks the first experimental use of the Video/Snare—an instrument that radically unites sound and light. Functioning simultaneously as an acoustic drum kit and luminous object, the Video/Snare serves as the centerpiece for this audiovisual exploration, bridging the divide between hearing and seeing, rhythm and image, body and space.

In collaboration with musicians Sebastian Gramss, Gaunda Gottschalk, and Julia Sanjurgo, this performance develops a soundscape where improvisation and live cinema merge. Rather than following linear dramaturgy, the concert allows sound archipels to emerge, approach each other, overlap, and separate—a conscious counterposition to fixed forms of musical narration.

The visual aesthetic draws inspiration from analog found footage, projected light surfaces, and the deployment of cameras and self-built video samplers. Simultaneously, the acoustic material undergoes live processing through granular synthesis: the snare's sound is fragmented, decomposed, and rendered audible in new contexts—as memory, as disturbance, or as echo.

This marks the inaugural exploration of particle systems through the Video/Snare's unique capacity to transform rhythmic impulses into cascading visual and sonic fragments, establishing new territories where electronic sound generation meets real-time video manipulation.
