The work of writer Thomas Kling has left great traces in German literature and set new standards in many areas. Kling often emphasizes the sonic dimension of language in his texts through the omission of vowels, the use of different dialects, the deliberate accumulation of sound chains, and a special kind of delivery, without dissolving the semanticity of language. With this focus, he has also done groundbreaking work in questions of communication between music and text, and the musicality of poetic language.

The trombone-guitar duo MATTHIAS MUCHE / NICOLA L. HEIN will interpret and perform texts by THOMAS KLING together with the Viennese voice artist and speaker CHRISTIAN REINER and video artists LUIS NEGRÓN VAN GRIEKEN and MATTHIAS NEUENHOFER.

Conceived based on the concept of "language installation," the artists have processed texts from Thomas Kling's work visually/digitally, musically, and vocally, developing musical/spatial compositions that place the intimate interlocking of text, music, language, and image at the center of the work, thereby casting entirely new perspectives on the communication of music, image, and language and the works of Kling used here.

The rehearsals took place in the architecturally highly interesting building by architect Raimund Abraham, in immediate proximity to the Thomas Kling Archive at the Raketenstation Hombroich in Neuss.
