Negation as Reduction
I would like to invite you to dive into an empty space. Could you imagine yourself immersed in that space, almost body-less?.
confronting the nothing?.
But could we imagine this room, with no light and therefore no shadows.
Let's think about this empty space and we cover them by imagining the borders and qualities of it
are there any at all ?
So how to define a empty space when the unknown qualities.
We have no chance to see anything, nor the borders between light and darkness, nor contours any objects projected on the walls in Plato's cave.
++Plato's cave deliver so many layers on knowledge, on consciousness, power and cultural production.++
With this darkness no production of knowledge exists, but also no chance to control other’s people's mind with knowledge _re_presentation's and recombination.
It would be the beginning of the end of The society of Spectacle as Guy Dubord might know.
Let’s begin with the framing, delimiting the image with his borders, implicating the unknown known, the known unknown, the disappearance of the body.
The ghosts of the desire are called by these borders, activating the motor of affect: fear, desire, love, revenge.
The Frame - produces a potential space by erasing. It is there, because it ins't there.
His(toi)res Du Cinema
This is a kind of radiology of film culture by using the well known video’s ressources of repetition, interference and accumulation.
We still are in this empty space. Which is now in this potential universe. which probably is another world for maybe. now we are talking about space of the (im) possibilities. This is like a draft the becomes the final project, this is a daydream.
Uncertainty is my girlfriend
I am letting the uncertainty to freely become the real now. I am displaying the mask of filmmaking . I am showing the skeleton of a possible image production. I am pointing into the fragility of human perception. This is the poetics of failure, but also the poetics of precision. Making the invisible visible, like the spiritual exercise of finding the divine in the unknown field s of science - electrical theology.
Teologi Electrici
We remember here the Idea of a Teologi Electrici from 17th entury. Spiritual Scientist aimed to explain the forces from the unknown fields of magnetism and electricity and giving the explanations to the divinity. We might think into the times of the first explanations on electricity. Heinrich Hertz for instance found out accidentally the propagation of electromagnetical waves - 40 years after the amazingly simple but incomprehensible equations of Maxwell.
(rotation of vectorial fields never been seen, integrals that representes energy over surfaces). Some people say in that time that, is more easy to imagine an invisible angel that to imagine an electro-magnetical field. An Invisible Angel, what a beautiful idea. An imaginary solution per excellence.
in the Pataphysics Universe
The Pataphysics. That science of the imaginary solutions, that rules in a parallel universe of singularities. There are no exceptions, because everything is singular. Pataphysics creates disruptions, invent words, change the language. Pataphysics imitates the gesture of science by putting a mask - to convert the mask later into the real face. (like complex numbers, money, and other strange tools that creates our reality).
the science of the particular the pataphysician universe describes a supplementary universe to this one. the science of imaginary solutions In the physics world: You have a brother, he likes cheese in Metaphysics would be: I you have a brother, he likes chesse in the pataphysical universe: ** You don't have any brother, he likes cheese** To unterstand Pataphysics implicate actually not to understand it. Doing live-cinema with TELEFANTE is creating fiction that become later the real. I use the big language of image production minoriting it to another language, in order to create another instance of another language with other strength.
Telefante is a quest.
But me personally I understand this quest almost as a spiritual state - but not in a religion way - but more like a Phantom - an appearance -. I would like to address to the beautiful relationship in the german language we might find in the word Geist: on the one side intelligence - Reason (Vernunft), The Head!! (Kopf) - but it is also also is Geist : ein Spuk, Esprit, ein Witz. In this sense means for me still live cinema (german is infiltrating more and more into this text) as a spiritual confrontation of negation, not in the negative subtractive conception, nor as a nihilistic gesture of believing in nothing, but more as the idea of using reduction to reach other layers of thinking. To think on these things that surround us anyway.
We are still here and now. In that empty space - of possibilities and bifurcations.
