CINE OJO 2.0 - an interactive av installation based on Djiga Vertov
Venue: Metronom - Center experimental de Arte Contemporaneo Rafael Tous Location: Barcelona Participants: Fabian Taranto, Rodrigo Diaz, Luis Negron
Cine Ojo 2.0 is an interactive audiovisual installation exploring the representation of urban daily life through an advanced dynamic system based on autonomous agents. Inspired by Dziga Vertov's revolutionary manifesto Kino-Eye, this work proposes a generative documentary approach where the process of montage emerges from the combination of algorithmic-driven movements and visitor interaction.
The installation transforms the everyday experience into an artistic encounter, extracting visual and sonic fragments from urban life and presenting them in a decontextualized space that allows for their re-signification. Following Duchamp's gesture of elevating everyday objects to art status, the work invites participants to engage with artificial beings loaded with information about urban situations, revealed according to the degree of commitment and interest shown by the interactor.
The experience unfolds on a white table where digital organisms live and compete for the visitor's attention. Through touch-based interaction, participants can discover hidden layers of meaning within seemingly mundane urban elements - from the musical qualities of a doorbell's ring to the varied colors that bathe the same sunset depending on whether it's seen through the eyes of a child in love or an athlete.
The work challenges our indifference to daily surroundings, making visible the extraordinary within the ordinary and transforming passive observation into active discovery through embodied interaction with autonomous digital agents.
